Counselling and Psychotherapy Approach

Martina is an integrative psychotherapist who works collaboratively with her clients to customise a therapeutic approach specific to the clients’ needs.  She draws from the main theoretical models which include Humanistic and Person Centered Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Family Systems, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (MCBT).

The relationship between Martina and her clients is at the centre of how she works.   She views therapy is a unique and personal process to each individual or couple.  Martina works compassionately, seeing trust as essential to ensure the individual or couple are fully supported within a safe and respectful environment.

Martina believes we are a combination of our unique individuality, our lived experiences, relationships and connections.  These experiences or relationships can be difficult, confusing and even traumatic.  In the counselling space, Martina aims to help clients make sense and navigate these challenges, to have more rewarding relationships with others and themselves, and to develop communication and assertiveness skills from a self-compassionate and authentic self.
