Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Jennifer has a Higher Diploma in Biodynamic & Integrative Psychotherapy form The Centre for Biodynamic & Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling Galway.  She has a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision & Reflective Practice across professions.  She also hold a post graduate diploma in Expressive Arts Therapy and a post graduate diploma in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. She is certified in Child Psychology. Jennifer also holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology from Dublin City University, a Professional Diploma in Online Therapy, a Professional Diploma in Clinical Supervision Online & Telephone Working. She is a Senior Professional Member of ACTO (Associations for Counselling and Therapy Online)

She has worked with individual clients and groups since 2009, originally training as a Life and Business Coach with the Irish Life Coach Institute.  Jennifer trained further, to became a Clinical Hypnotherapist and a Certified Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). She holds a Certificate in Training and Development from the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD) and has a post graduate Diploma in Advanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Jennifer is a fully Accredited Supervisor and Psychotherapist with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and the British Association of  Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Jennifer’s approach is Humanistic and Person-Centred with a body-mind perspective.  Her approach emphasises the importance of the body and ‘bodywork’ in achieving holding and maintaining emotional, mental, physical and spiritual well-being. It helps a person restore their natural capacity for self-regulation and self-healing which has been lost or forgotten through neurosis. The focus and aim of Jennifer’s clinical practice is for her clients to feel better and to become better, to grow, to learn, to overcome and to live happy fulfilled lives.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Jennifer has worked in private practice as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist in Galway since 2015.  She works with a variety of issues such as self-esteem, depression, anxiety, panic, trauma, loss, anger management, identity problems, general counselling and personal development. She is especially interested in assisting people to overcome trauma by means of body orientated psychotherapy and trauma work having obtained a specialist diploma in PTSD.

Jennifer provides a safe confidential environment where she considers and supports the integration of mind body and soul by working in a deeply caring way.  Her moto is, “never judge the body: it is your home on earth”.

Jennifer has worked in private practice as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist in Galway since 2015. She is working as a Supervisor Across Professions since 2019. She is especially interested in assisting therapists through Supervision to support people to overcome traumas grief and bereavement and supervise trauma work.
