Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Anne is a fully qualified Gestalt Psychotherapist who completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Gestalt Psychotherapy at the Gestalt Institute of Ireland and validated by the Institute of Technology Carlow in alignment with IAHIP and IACP regulations.
Anne is a fully accredited psychotherapist with the IACP ( Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abides by their code of ethics.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Anne works with the awareness that sometimes we may have a diminished sense of self as a result of past experiences. This can limit how we connect and build relationships with others. Gestalt therapy strives to raise awareness of our relationship patterns and aims to develop new more fulfilling and satisfactory ways of connecting with others.
Anne works creatively with each person, using words, art and other creative outlets. She works in partnership with her clients endeavouring to help them engage in the process of healing and developing self-awareness.
Anne believes that Therapy is not only useful during difficult and transitional times but also as a place to support individuals in a search for meaning and purpose in life.
Anne is available for both short and long term work with clients on a one to one basis.
Counselling Experience & Areas of Interest
Anne has a keen interest in somatic work and how the body remembers, stores and manages emotions and feelings. She has seen and experienced that becoming more in tune with the body strengthens our ability to deal with life issues, is a gateway to self-awareness and opens up our potential for self fulfilment and happiness.
Her areas of particular interest include but are not limited to loss, trauma, anxiety, isolation and loneliness, relationship difficulties, stress, gender/sexuality issues and work/life balance.
Anne has previously worked with Let’s Get Talking Galway and Pro Consult.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Anne worked in business, education and the voluntary sector in Ireland and Australia. Anne also holds a B.Comm (UCC), MBS (UCD) and a Diploma in Education(NUIG).
Anne’s fee is €70 per session
