Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Robert works with individual, adult clients on a wide range of issues including: anxiety; depression; low self-esteem; grief; relationship issues; identity; and trauma. He has a particular interest in Trauma Informed Therapy, Neurodivergence, Body Work, and Mindfulness.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Robert believes that therapy can offer people a contained space where they can discover what well-being, purpose, and meaning in life look like for them. At the centre of this process is the relationship between the therapist and client, where the focus is on the client’s unique experience and specific needs. Robert uses a humanistic and integrative relational approach, incorporating elements of Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Existential, and Body Work approaches, to collaboratively meet clients’ needs in a compassionate and non-judgemental way.
Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Robert has an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy from Dublin City University and a background in philosophy and psychology. His training involved multiple therapeutic approaches and how best to apply them to meet the specific needs of clients. Robert is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). As part of this, he actively engages in regular continuous professional development and supervision to ensure that his practice is ethical and effective.
