Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Mark is a psychotherapist who shares his time working in private practice and in schools, specialising in providing support to parents as well as working with young adults and adolescents. He delivers information and training workshops to parent and staff groups on adolescent mental health and how to support adolescent’s mental health and development. Mark recognises the powerful positive impact engaging in therapy can have on a person’s life and is dedicated to helping parents, young adults and adolescents find purpose and meaning from their experiences, understanding that a person's experiences and environment and lack of support often dictate how they feel, think and respond in life.

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Marks approach is person centred, embracing the uniqueness of each individual and their circumstances, working relationally and holistically supporting clients who are struggling and experiencing a difficult time in life to make sense and meaning of their life experiences. Mark works with issues such as anxiety, self-esteem, bereavement, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss, abuse, self-harm, relationship issues, bullying, depression among others, using different skills such as CBT, exposure therapy, psychodynamic, mindfulness, creative work as appropriate for the client and what they are going through.

Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Mark is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). He holds a Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Master’s Degree in Adolescent Psychotherapy and a Master’s Degree in Guidance Counselling.  Mark also has a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Degree in Creative Music and Arts. Mark has recently completed training in ADHD diagnosis.
