Psychotherapy Experience and Areas of Interest

Marc started his professional career in the Drug Addiction Unit of the International Hospital Medimar (Alicante) in 2016, moving to Ireland in 2017 and collaborating with Mind and Body Works from 2020. Throughout his professional career Marc has worked with a wide variety of people from different countries with different mental conditions including:

• Addictions
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Post Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD)
• Obsessive and Compulsive Disorders (OCD)
• Eating Disorders
• Student counselling

In 2023 Marc moved back to Spain for a year, maintaining his relationship with Mind and Body Works but including another centre specialized in OCD, to increase Marc’s knowledge in this area. Marc returned to Dublin in June 2024. In addition, Marc also has experience working with teenagers and young adults in the autistic spectrum. He is a certified provider in the PEERS® Program (The Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills).  This is an internationally recognized research-validated social skills program treating teens and young adult with social cognitive challenges like Autism, ADHD, social anxiety, depression and learning difficulties.

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Marc’s main background is the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). However, throughout his career Marc has encountered other approaches that complemented his own, approaches such as humanistic, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as some elements from the Psychoanalysis. These elements create a diverse therapeutic framework where the client is encouraged to take an active role in their therapeutic process. Each step of the therapeutic process is co-created between the therapist and the client, always with a focus on fulfilling the client’s goals and aspirations. Psychology and Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Marc holds a degree in Psychology from the Miguel Hernández University in Spain. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Health Psychology from the same University.  Both qualifications have been accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI). In addition, Marc holds several certificates and qualifications in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), including a specialization in dealing with Schizophrenia using the CBT approach. He is also an Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner, accredited by the EMDR European association. In addition, Marc has finished several specialized courses with the same organisation, focusing the EMDR therapy to several situations:

• Eating disorders
• Addictions
• Trauma

Marc is a fully accredited member of the Psychological Society of Ireland and a member of the Health Psychologists division. In addition, he is also an accredited member of the Spanish School of Psychology (COP).

Marc está licenciado en Psicología por la Universidad Miguel Hernández en España. También tiene un Máster en Psicología General Sanitaria por la misma Universidad. Ambas calificaciones han sido acreditadas por la Sociedad Psicológica de Irlanda (PSI). Marc también posee varios certificados y calificaciones en Terapia Cognitivo-Conductual (TCC), incluida una especialización en el tratamiento de la esquizofrenia utilizando el enfoque de TCC. También es practicante de Desensibilización y Reprocesamiento del Movimiento Ocular (EMDR), acreditado por la asociación europea de EMDR. Además, Marc ha finalizado varios cursos especializados con la misma organización, enfocando la terapia EMDR a varias situaciones:

• Trastornos alimentarios
• Adicciones
• Abuso y relaciones

Marc es un miembro totalmente acreditado por la Sociedad de Psicología de Irlanda y miembro de la división de Psicólogos de la Salud. Además, también es miembro acreditado del Colegio Español de Psicólogos (COP).

Psicología y Abordaje Psicoterapéutico

La formación principal de Marc es la Terapia Cognitivo-Conductual (TCC). Sin embargo, a lo largo de su carrera, Marc ha ido incorporando otros enfoques que complementan el suyo, como la terapia humanista y Gestalt, la Terapia Breve Centrada en la Solución (SFBT), así como algunos elementos del Psicoanálisis. Estos elementos crean un marco terapéutico en el que se anima al cliente a tomar un papel activo en su proceso terapéutico. Cada paso del proceso terapéutico es consensuado entre el terapeuta y el cliente, siempre con la dirección de cumplir las metas y aspiraciones del cliente. Finalmente, una cita que describe la filosofía de Marc, “Cuando ya no somos capaces de cambiar una situación, tenemos el desafío de cambiarnos a nosotros mismos”. ― Viktor E. Experiencia en Psicoterapia

Marc comenzó su carrera profesional en la Unidad de Drogodependencias del Hospital Internacional Medimar (Alicante) en 2016 trasladándose a Irlanda en 2017 y colaborando con Mind and Body Works en 2020. A lo largo de su carrera profesional Marc ha trabajado con una gran variedad de personas de diferentes países con diferentes condiciones mentales incluyendo: adicciones, depresión, ansiedad, trastornos post traumáticos, trastornos obsesivos compulsivos (TOC), trastornos alimentarios, ideación suicida y asesoramiento estudiantil. En 2023 Marc regresó a España, manteniendo su relación con Mind and Body Works, pero incluyendo otro centro especializado en TOC, para aumentar el conocimiento de Marc en esta área. Marc volvió a Dublín en Junio de 2024. Además, Marc también tiene experiencia trabajando con adolescentes y adultos jóvenes en el espectro autista. Es proveedor certificado del Programa PEERS® (Programa para la Educación y Enriquecimiento de Habilidades Sociales). Este es un programa de habilidades sociales validado mediante investigaciones y reconocido internacionalmente que trata a adolescentes y adultos jóvenes con desafíos cognitivos sociales como autismo, TDAH, ansiedad social, depresión y dificultades de aprendizaje.
