This ongoing education allows her to stay current with the latest therapeutic techniques, enhancing the quality of care she offers to her clients.Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Lucy is currently expanding her practice through training in somatic therapy, an approach that recognises the deep connection between mind and body. Somatic therapy helps clients tune into the physical sensations that accompany emotions, stress, or trauma. By working gently with the body through mindful awareness, movement, and breathwork, clients can release tension, regulate their nervous system, and reconnect with a sense of safety and presence. This holistic approach supports healing on both emotional and physical levels, often helping clients feel more grounded, centred, and at ease in themselves.Lucy has also completed training in trauma-informed practice, which informs the way she works with clients. Being trauma-informed means recognising the impact that trauma — whether from a single event or ongoing experiences — can have on a person’s mind, body, and sense of safety. It also means understanding that healing occurs most effectively in an environment of trust, collaboration, and empowerment.
With this knowledge, Lucy works sensitively, at each client’s own pace, always prioritising safety and choice. She helps clients build resilience, strengthen self-compassion, and gently process experiences that may feel overwhelming, without re-traumatisation. Her trauma-informed approach ensures clients feel seen, respected, and in control of their own healing journey.
