Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Jackie holds an MA in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy (Clinical) from IT Carlow and an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy from the Tivoli Institute. She also holds a Diploma in Business Studies from the Waterford Institute of Technology. Jackie is an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Jackie works from a humanistic and integrative approach. She places the client at the center of the therapeutic process and tailors her approach to suit each and every individual. She believes the therapeutic relationship is central to the therapy process and so this is a key area of focus during work with her clients. Jackie does not offer a solution focused service but rather works with her clients to find solutions for themselves. Her aim is to help clients identify their patterns of behavior and recognise how those patterns may be impacting their current lives in a negative way.Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Jackie has previously worked in a number of senior people management roles before making the transition to psychotherapy. Her experience of managing large teams led to an interest in people, and particularly their mental health. She has been working in private practice for a number of years and most recently her work has involved helping third level students with a variety of issues including (but not exclusively) anxiety, friendships, stress, low self-esteem, depression, eating disorders and sexuality. Jackie also works with parents and families of children with additional needs, with a particular focus on parents of children with Down Syndrome based on her own personal experience. The work involves helping parents to understand and manage the day-to-day challenges involved in raising a child with additional needs. Prior to this she worked for the Tivoli institute as part of their low-cost counselling service, initially as a senior student and later as a qualified therapist. Jackie’s areas of interest include anxiety, eating disorders, sexuality, trauma, family dynamics, depression, stress, low self-esteem, grief and loss.Jackie's current fee is €70 per session, €80 from January 1st, 2026.
