Biography

Elaine works with adults on a wide range of issues including Anxiety, depression and stress, Grief, loss and life changes, Trauma and recovery, Relationship difficulties, Sexuality, gender, identity and belonging, Eating disorders and body image concerns.

She has particular expertise in perinatal mental health including: Fertility, pregnancy, abortion, miscarriage and birth, Grief and loss related to reproductive experiences, Anxiety and depression during pregnancy and the postnatal period.

Elaine’s research interests are in the area of sexuality and gender, and how we adjust and shape our body and identity to belong to the groups and cultures we live in, often to the detriment of our whole health; biological (physical), psychological (mental) and social (relationships).

Her style is warm, compassionate and non-judgemental. She stays present with you in the therapy room and supports you in discovering your own unique ways of making meaning and moving forward.

Elaine is a fully qualified Gestalt psychotherapist with an M.A. in Gestalt Psychotherapy (First Class Honours) from the Gestalt Institute of Ireland, validated by the South East Technological University. She is a licensed member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP).
