Biography

Eimear has experience working with issues such as anxiety, depression, OCD, personality disorders, trauma, self-esteem, neurodivergence, suicidal ideation, family relationship issues, fertility.

Eimear’s particular areas of interest include increasing clients’ self-acceptance, using psychoeducation to treat anxiety, helping people with diagnosed or suspected ASD/ADHD carve out a place for themselves in a neurotypical world.

Eimear’s focus is on meeting people exactly where they are, which is often in pain, and working with them to accept their present reality so that change is made possible. Her goal is to facilitate clients in understanding their patterns of behaviour and identifying how these patterns may be impacting on their lives in ways that they no longer want. Some of the therapeutic models she draws on include psychodynamic, person-centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), family systems theory, psychosynthesis and mindfulness.

Eimear is a fully accredited member of the IACP.
