Biography

Declan specializes in guiding young people through the turbulence of adolescence, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, mood swings, low motivation, grief, self-esteem and confidence, identity formation, peer relationship struggles, family conflict, school avoidance, academic stress, social isolation, and the impact of social media on mental health, body image, and self-esteem. He has developed significant experience working in secondary schools, helping students navigate academic pressures, social dynamics, and emotional difficulties.

With a comprehensive background in social care, where he supported individuals with diverse needs and abilities. Declan applies this experience to offer therapeutic support to neurodivergent young people, including those who identify as autistic, ADHD, and dyslexic. He helps them navigate their unique strengths and challenges while fostering confidence, resilience, and self-acceptance.

As an adolescent therapist, he provides a safe, non-judgmental space where young people can openly explore their emotions, reflect on their experiences, and develop self-awareness. His approach empowers young people to build healthier coping strategies, enhance emotional regulation, and gain confidence in themselves.

Declan also works with parents, helping them better understand their child’s needs and equipping them with practical tools to foster healthy communication and emotional connection.
