Sahra holds a Master’s in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from University College Cork (UCC). She also has a higher diploma in Relationship Mentoring from UCC. Sahra is a member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Her aim is to provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where clients can share their experiences and feel understood. Therapy can be a supportive and empowering process, helping to build resilience, healthy ways of coping and move towards meaningful change.Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
As a humanistic and integrative psychotherapist, Sahra provides the client with a safe, non-judgemental space that accepts the uniqueness of the client. This allows her to focus on the client’s needs and provide a therapeutic process that is unique to them. She has a special interest in humanistic, person centred therapy but also applies psychodynamic theoretical practice and believes in the creativity enabled through psychosynthesis. Sahra believes that the relationship between client and therapist is the most important part of the therapeutic process. She offers the client an unconditional, safe and empathic space for the client to explore and heal.Counselling Experiences and Areas of Interest
Sahra has a broad range of experience working in both deep long term psychotherapeutic work and short term solution focused therapy. She has been practicing as a psychotherapist for over 5 years and has worked with a wide variety of clients. Sahra is passionate about the gift of therapy in supporting people who feel stuck, lost and over-whelmed. She works with adults facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, ADHD, bullying, self-harm, child abuse, domestic abuse and sexual assault. She has a special interest in the area of disordered eating and its connection with trauma. Her thesis for her masters focused on attachment theory and its application in the therapeutic practice.
