Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Rachel holds an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Turning Point Training Institute accredited by University College Cork. Rachel is an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). Rachel is committed to ongoing training and professional development and regularly attends training workshops/ seminars. Rachel works through a humanistic and integrative approach with her clients. This allows her to focus on each clients individual needs and unique psychotherapeutic journey. She offers a safe and non-judgemental space where clients can explore the issues affecting their lives and she helps them to understand themselves on a deeper level, to heal and to facilitate the potential for personal growth and change. Rachel believes that the relationship between Client and Therapist is the most important part of her therapeutic work, where she offers an unconditional and empathetic space for the client to safely facilitate process and to promote self-care and healing.Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Rachel has a broad experience working with both deep long term psychotherapeutic work and also shorter-term Solution – Focused Therapy. She has worked with clients from many different backgrounds and cultures and age groups throughout her work experience. Rachel has worked with clients on such issues as anxiety, depression and bereavement and loss. She has a special interest in working with issues surrounding Neurodiversity and also Identity, Sexuality and Gender. Rachel has also worked extensively with clients in the area of Trauma, PTSD and Sexual Abuse and has completed training with the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. For her master’s degree Rachel completed a thesis which explored the experience of Psychotherapists working with grief and loss associated with Miscarriage and Infertility. This has greatly contributed to her clinical work enabling her to support clients in their issues relating to Infertility and promoting healing in their grief journey. Rachel also holds a Diploma in Couples Therapy.
