Biography
Heather works one-to-one with adults experiencing anxiety, anger, loneliness, low self-esteem, grief and depression. You may be struggling with something that has happened, feeling overwhelmed by what is happening now, or noticing patterns in your life that you would like to understand or change. Whatever brings you to therapy, you do not need to have everything worked out before you begin.
Heather sees psychotherapy as a collaborative process, shaped by trust, curiosity and respect for your individual experience. She works at a pace that feels manageable for you, giving you space to explore what matters without feeling that you need to arrive with the right words or the answers already in place.
Her approach is integrative, drawing on different therapeutic perspectives according to your individual needs. She has a growing interest in somatic psychotherapy and in the ways our experiences can be expressed through the body as well as through words.
Heather has a strong academic background in psychology and psychotherapy. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Philosophy, followed by an MSc in Psychology. Building on this foundation, she went on to complete a Master’s in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, developing her therapeutic practice across a range of approaches and perspectives.
Heather is a pre-accredited member of the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists (APCP).
Sometimes you know what is troubling you. Sometimes you simply know that something doesn't feel right. Heather offers a space away from the expectations of everyday life, where you can talk openly, make sense of what you're experiencing, and explore what might help.

Heather believes that greater understanding can open up new possibilities. Therapy can give you time to explore your experiences, recognise patterns and discover different ways of responding to the difficulties you face. The insights that emerge can become something you take with you beyond the therapy room, helping you find ways forward that feel meaningful to you.

Heather listens carefully to what you say, while also noticing what else may be happening as you talk. Sometimes a change in tone of voice, posture, physical sensation or emotional response can help us notice something that has been difficult to put into words. Exploring these moments together can bring a deeper understanding of what you are experiencing and what you may need.
Rather than giving you answers, Heather works alongside you as you discover your own. Therapy can become a place to explore, reflect and try out new ways of understanding or responding, with what you discover gradually becoming part of how you meet your life outside the therapy room.
