Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Ciara is passionate about supporting people who feel overwhelmed, lost, stuck or helpless. She has experience supporting clients through issues such as anxiety, depression, lack of motivation or sense of purpose, discrimination, challenges with self-esteem and self-understanding, burnout, stress, grief, loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, loneliness, loss of identity and traumatic events.

Ciara finds the diversity of the world immensely appealing and has experience working in various cultures and languages. She deeply values respect and inclusion of all individuals, and is guided by social justice principles in her work.

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Ciara’s approach to psychotherapy is person-centred and humanistic, placing the therapeutic relationship at the heart of her work. She believes that each person brings their own unique experiences, strengths, and ways of understanding the world, and her therapy approach is tailored to meet the individual needs of each client.

Ciara offers a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and respected. Together, you can explore thoughts, feelings, experiences, and patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing, while developing greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and understanding.

Ciara’s integrative approach is collaborative and grounded in compassion, authenticity, and respect. She works alongside clients rather than providing a one-size-fits-all solution, supporting them to explore what may be holding them back and to draw on their own resources and strengths. She aims to make therapy feel approachable, supportive, and meaningful, providing a space where you can explore difficult experiences at your own pace and work towards the changes that feel important to you.

Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Ciara holds a BSc in Psychology from Maynooth University, a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College, awarded by Middlesex University in the UK and a Masters in Intercultural Education from Freie Universität in Berlin.

Ciara is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and works to their ethical and professional standards. She participates in ongoing training and professional development, regularly attending workshops, seminars and clinical supervision in order to continue effectively supporting her clients.
