Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
It is Owen’s belief that the therapeutic relationship is the most important component of counselling.
Using an integrative approach of Humanistic, Existential, and Choice Theory, Owen’s style of counselling is holistic. He takes the whole person into account – emotional, physical, spiritual, psychological, and environmental.
Owen sees his role as a therapist as one to facilitate exploration, reflection and introspection, human connection, and to provide perspective and solicited advise from a psycho-educational angle.
Owen’s practice provides a safe environment in which a client can explore their thoughts and feelings free of judgement. Owen is passionate in the proverb “a problem shared is a problem halved” and believes through identifying patterns in our thoughts, behaviours and relationships, we can empower ourselves with the perspective needed to heal and change.
