Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Anna (She/Her) is a fully qualified Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist. She started her journey in psychotherapy training with a Foundation Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy before completing a Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, accredited by Middlesex University.
She is a registered member of The College of Sex and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). She is due to start studying towards an Advanced Diploma in Couples Therapy with NAOS in 2022.
Please note that Anna is UK-based and is registered with accredited UK organisations. As such, her receipts may not be accepted by Irish health insurance providers.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Anna uses an integrative approach combining different modalities to suit the needs of her client (combining psychodynamic, transactional analysis, existential and gestalt approaches), She aims to create a safe and empathetic environment for her clients and appreciates how difficult it can be starting therapy, particularly discussing sexual matters.
She has worked with a wide range of psychosexual presentations including –
Vaginismus, Erectile Dysfunction, Low Sexual Desire, Dysparenia (painful sex), Premature or Rapid Ejaculation, Anorgasmia, Compulsive Sexual Behaviour (also known as Sex/Porn Addiction), Living with HIV, Chemsex, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Phobias, the effects of the Menopause, living with the effects of conversion therapy
She has worked with couples on the following (in addition to the issues above) –
Conflict and communication difficulties in relationships, LGBTQIA+ relationships, differing levels of sexual desire within relationships, Infidelity, defining emotional and sexual boundaries within relationships, cross-cultural and inter-racial relationships
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Anna worked for Ealing Abbey Counselling Service, Homerton University Hospital NHS Trust and Terrence Higgins Trust, alongside volunteering for Maytree, an organization which provides emotional support to those experiencing suicidal thoughts. This allowed her to see a diverse range of clients (both individuals and couples), presenting with a range of issues. Anna has extensive experience of working with LGBTQIA+ clients, those practicing ethical non-monogamy and with BDSM/Kink. She has a private practice in West London.
Prior to launching her career as a therapist, she completed a BA in Philosophy and Sociology and an MA in Continental Philosophy. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to alternative music, reading, creative writing and spending time with her many nieces and nephews.
Please note that Anna asks clients to attend on a weekly basis during the therapeutic process.
