Counselling and Therapeutic approach
Within her practice Teresa uses different modalities, approaches and techniques that are tailored to clients’ needs, believing that we are all individual and that ‘one size does not fit all’, and is committed to supporting clients through challenging times. Her philosophy for working with clients starts from the premise that clients already have what they need to move forward and believes the therapeutic relationship is paramount to successful outcomes and is at the core of everything she does with clients.
As a sex informed couples’ relationship psychotherapist, she takes a holistic approach to therapy, which considers not only the psychological and emotional aspect of the relationship but also the physical and sexual components. Teresa works to create a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and supportive environment for couples to explore their sexual and intimate relationships and develop the skills and tools they need to enhance their sexual satisfaction and overall relationship quality. This assists couples (and individuals) to improve their communication overall and to identify and explore sexual issues, desires and preferences, address sexual dysfunction, such as low libido; working to build intimacy and connection through physical touch and sexual exploration.
