Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

As an Integrative therapist, Sarah uses a range of approaches such as humanistic, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic psychotherapy to fit the specific needs of each client. Often, these approaches can change throughout the therapeutic journey. This journey, when conducted within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship, can be transformative.

Whether coming to therapy for the first time or continuing from a previous therapeutic encounter, clients value Sarah’s listening skills, empathetic insight and her ability to sit with them through dark times. She is also known for her warmth and her ability to create a safe non-judgemental space for her clients.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Sarah has worked with a range of issues including; anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, academic pressures, self-esteem, life transitions, childhood trauma, and grief. She has special interests in mother-daughter relationships, neurodiversity including ADHD, 3rd Level students and professional relationship difficulties.

Sarah blends her experience as a therapist with her former business and not-for-profit background to support her clients as they work through difficulties in their personal and professional lives. Having lived for nearly two decades in New York City and Sydney, and having sat on, or chaired, a number of not-for-profit boards, Sarah also brings a world view to her work and understands how complex societal issues such as politics, multi-culturalism, separation, identity, and environment can impact a person’s mental health.
