Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Seeking the support of counselling can take courage, and Paul aims to create a safe space for you to express your thoughts and feelings openly and be listened to in a non-judgmental way. He takes a person-centered approach, viewing counselling and psychotherapy as a very personal journey, and supports you in working at your own pace to develop your inner resources and a greater awareness of your authentic self.

Sometimes people wonder if what they’re experiencing is serious enough for therapy, Paul takes the approach that you don’t have to wait for a crisis to seek counselling, and if something is worrying you then it’s important, and worthwhile seeking support. And yes, it can be difficult to talk about feelings and emotions at times and that first step can seem daunting, but it can also be the beginning of long-term positive changes in your life.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Paul has worked with adults and third level students using both short term solution focused approaches and longer-term psychotherapy, depending on the need of each individual. Modern life can be stressful, and whether you’re experiencing a sense of overwhelm, irritability or anger, anxiety, or depression, Paul has a particular interest in supporting your mental health and helping you reach your full potential.
