Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
At the heart of Oana’s practice is a simple belief: with the right support, each person has the capacity to heal, grow, and thrive. Her approach is grounded in rigorous training and a lifelong dedication to learning alongside personal and professional development.
Oana is a qualified psychotherapist with a Higher Diploma in Biodynamic and Integrative Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Biodynamic Massage from the Trácht Psychotherapy Foundation in Galway. She is also a pre-accredited member of both the Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapists (IAHIP) and the Irish Association of Body Psychotherapy (IABP).
Before training as a therapist, Oana studied foreign languages and cultural mediation and worked in communications and community settings. These experiences have shaped her open, creative, and inclusive way of connecting with people from all walks of life.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Oana’s approach is rooted in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy which views each individual as the expert in their own life. During sessions, she leans onto an integrated, whole-person framework, combining approaches that support emotional awareness, behaviour, and cognition with gentle, trauma-informed body-based work.
Oana sees therapy as a collaboration: a space where the way you and her connect plays an important role in helping you find understanding and change. You will be met with warmth, curiosity, and compassion, to be able to safely explore what is difficult, uncover patterns, and discover what wellbeing can truly look and feel like for you.
Each session is shaped around you. Sometimes that means talk therapy; other times, it might include body awareness, movement, or massage based on prior agreement. However you work together with Oana, the aim is always to help you reconnect with your inner wisdom, release what no longer serves you, and live with more authenticity and ease.
Counselling Experience & Areas of Interest
During therapy with Oana you can explore many aspects of life: from managing stress, anxiety, or loss to deepening self-acceptance, authenticity, and connection in relationships, creativity, and everyday living.
An important part of her practice involves working with the body-mind connection through somatic awareness and expression, including Biodynamic Massage* if you choose. The body often remembers what the mind cannot recall. By tuning into sensations, movement, and the body’s subtle cues, you can access insights that support balance and wellbeing.
Oana also holds a compassionate space for those navigating grief or bereavement, offering gentle presence and understanding as you find your own path toward healing and meaning.
Rooted in Irish culture and community yet shaped by life in three countries, Oana brings both deep local understanding and a warm, multicultural perspective that helps her relate meaningfully to the experiences, challenges, and strengths of the people living here. Oana welcomes people of all identities, backgrounds, and relationship styles to explore who they are in the safe and accepting therapeutic space she provides.
Regular vs Biodynamic Therapy
Oana’s approach combines talking therapy with an awareness of the body, mind, and emotions. She listens not only to what’s said, but also to what might be expressed through the body, offering a holistic approach that honours all of who you are.
All sessions have an integrative and biodynamic foundation, and you can choose between two ways of working:
- Regular Psychotherapy: This is a more familiar talk-based approach, where you can explore what’s happening for you and may include gentle body awareness, movement, or expression as needed.
- Psychotherapy including Biodynamic Massage: This integrates all of the above, along with Biodynamic Massage (see details below), for a deeper way to connect with your inner experience. Some sessions may involve only talk or only massage, while others may combine both. If you have questions on how this works, please ask.
In the first session, you and Oana will talk about what brings you to therapy and decide together what approach feels most supportive for you.
Biodynamic Massage
This is a psychotherapeutic form of bodywork that complements talk therapy. It is compassionate, respectful, and free of expectation and it helps clients become more aware of their body and release physical or emotional tension, restoring a natural sense of energy and ease.
Biodynamic massage is done on a massage table without oils and involves touch techniques (on the skin or over light clothing) with sequences attuned to meet you where you are.
PLEASE NOTE: Currently, Oana does not offer Biodynamic Massage to clients engaged in psychotherapy elsewhere.
