Michael’s fee is €70 per session
Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Michael is a qualified Psychotherapist holding a BA honours degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from DBS. His training draws upon numerous approaches to therapeutic work, allowing flexibility in attuning to the unique needs of the client.
He is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). He honours their code of ethics and attends regular supervision.
Michael has completed ASIST (Applied suicide intervention and skills training) and is a certified emergency first aid responder. He is also a qualified yoga and meditation teacher. Michael continues to research and develop professionally within the psychotherapeutic field.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Michael’s approach is humanistic and integrative, inviting the client’s unique lived experience in as a central component in the therapeutic space.
He and the client work together to explore the relationship with the self, relationships with others and the underlying processes that can cause suffering.
His experience brings with it an awareness of physiology and he is an advocate of working somatically, incorporating the breath and drawing awareness to the clients nervous system and its interpretation of the world around them.
Michael firmly believes that clients can build resilience, develop autonomy and realise their potential in an environment built on trust, respect and empathy.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Michael works with a range is issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, negative thought patterns, grief and loss, trauma, family and relationship challenges. He has a particular interest in exploring existential issues with the client.
Michael also has a background as a performing artist on screen and stage and is acutely aware of the pressures, uncertainties and nature of this work. He continues to support artists, amongst others, in a calm and considered space.
