Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Katharine holds a Master’s Degree, having completed her training with The Tivoli institute, Dun Laoghaire, Co Dublin and graduated with an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (Clinical). She is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and abides by the code of ethics laid down by IACP.
Katharine is committed to ongoing professional development and partakes in ongoing training and supervision.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Katharine’s approach is based on the development of a safe space where clients can feel heard, and supported in an empathic and non-judgemental, understanding environment. This offers space for clients to grow, foster resilience and develop as fully individual people.
This work is collaborative and Katharine practices Psychodynamic Therapy, which is an Integrative and Humanistic approach, while also working with other approaches such as Gestalt, Person-Centred therapy, Psychosynthesis, Existential, as the client needs dictate.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Katharine brings her life experience to her work and embraces the opportunity to support change in others. It is a true privilege to be trusted with her clients most personal issues.
Areas of interest include working with young adults, chronic illnesses, menopause, family difficulties, low self-esteem, anxiety, grief, depression, weight issues among others.
