Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

A collaborative, person-centred approach is used by Pauline in individual therapy to help people understand and make sense of the difficulties they are experiencing.  Her priority is to create a safe and trusting space and believes in recognising and building on people’s strengths. The importance of holding hope for people that no matter what they have been through, recovery is possible. This is central in her work.

The therapeutic model Pauline selected depends on the unique profile of strength and needs of each individual.  She is highly experienced in delivering National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommended interventions for mental health difficulties. Pauline has comprehensive experience and training of specialist therapies for working with adults with eating disorders; Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) and MANTRA (Maudsley Model of Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults) in her individual therapy.  She also utilises Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) as well as other evidence-based therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs and capacities.
