Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

First and foremost, Britta prioritises building strong therapeutic relationships with her clients based on warmth, safety, empathy, openness and collaboration as the basis for therapy and change.

Britta’s approach as a psychologist is integrative, meaning she draws on several types of therapies based on her clients’ needs and preferences, which she explores with clients at the beginning of therapy and throughout. Britta frequently draws on emotion-focused therapy which focuses on transforming the painful emotions underlying mental health difficulties such as anxiety or low mood.

Alongside facilitating long-term change, Britta is also happy to collaborate with clients to develop practical strategies for getting through difficult times.

Britta has experience working with clients with a range of difficulties from mild to more severe levels (see below). She has worked with adults as well as children, adolescents and families and welcomes clients from age 16.
