Psychotherapy Approach
Ciarán believes that clients are the experts of their own lives. Ciarán’s approach is integrative, blending techniques from various therapeutic modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. Ciarán primarily draws on Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Choice Theory, and other therapeutic principles to empower clients to explore and better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Ciarán also brings in a multicultural perspective to ensure that each client’s background, values, and identity are respected.
Body awareness plays a significant role in his work, helping clients connect to their physical sensations to support emotional regulation and healing. Ciarán incorporates mindfulness, breathing techniques, and NLP to help clients manage emotions, break unhelpful patterns, and create lasting change. Additionally, psychometric feedback is used to track progress and provide clients with insights into their growth.
Congruence is central to Ciarán’s approach—what he practices in his own life mirrors the work he does with his clients. His commitment to mindfulness, exercise, and body awareness outside of the therapy room supports his belief in living in alignment with one’s values, and this consistency deepens the therapeutic relationship.
He also believe in the power of nature and forest therapy.
Nature has a profound impact on emotional and mental well-being, and he often encourages clients to incorporate nature into their healing process.
