Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Siobhan is a qualified psychotherapist with a Higher Diploma in Biodynamic and Integrative Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Biodynamic massage from Tracht Psychotherapy foundation in Galway. She is also an accredited member of both the Irish Association of Humanistic and integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Association of Body Psychotherapy (IABP), abiding by their code of ethics.Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Siobhan offers a calm, supportive space where clients can take time to explore what is happening for them. Therapy with Siobhan is collaborative and grounded in trust, honesty, and care. She supports clients to develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of connection with themselves and others. Siobhan works with people experiencing difficulties in relationships, a sense of disconnection from themselves, or the longer-term impact of early emotional neglect and developmental trauma. Many of the people Siobhan works with are capable and high-functioning, yet feel under strain beneath the surface. They may live with ongoing tension, emotional overwhelm, or periods of shutdown, and often describe a sense that something is missing, even when life appears to be going well. Experiences such as attachment wounds, relational trauma, sexual abuse, or sudden loss can shape how safety, closeness, and identity are felt in the present. Siobhan’s approach is relational, body-based, and trauma-informed. She works with both emotional experience and the nervous system, paying attention to patterns that show up in the body, such as sensations, breath or emotional responses. This can be especially helpful when words are hard to find, or when something feels held physically as well as emotionally. There is no pressure to work in a particular way, and the work always moves with what feels right for the client. Siobhan aims to offer a steady and supportive therapeutic relationship, while also being engaged and direct when it feels helpful to gently challenge patterns that no longer serve. She works in an integrative way, drawing from different approaches, with a particular interest in humanistic and biodynamic psychotherapy. This allows the work to unfold naturally, guided by what feels most present and relevant for each client. In addition to talk therapy, Siobhan incorporates bodywork massage as part of an integrative therapeutic approach. This work is offered only where appropriate and is always discussed and agreed collaboratively. Bodywork may support regulation, embodied awareness, and a deeper sense of connection, and is integrated gently within the overall therapeutic process.Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Siobhan has experience working with adults presenting with a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties. She has worked with clients through Family Carers Ireland and within a family support centre, supporting individuals impacted by caregiving roles, family stress, and relational strain. Her areas of interest include relationship and attachment difficulties, developmental and relational trauma, early emotional neglect, grief and loss, anger, sexuality-related concerns, and the impact of sexual abuse. She also works with anxiety, low mood, emotional overwhelm, and patterns of disconnection or shutdown, particularly those who appear to function well outwardly while feeling under strain internally. I also work with LGBTQ individuals and with neurodivergent clients.
