Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Sarah is a fully qualified Psychotherapist with an M.Sc. in Integrative and Humanistic Psychotherapy (Turning Point Institute, UCC). She is accredited by the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP), CORU registered as an Occupational Therapist, and is currently completing further training in Adolescent Psychotherapy.Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
As an integrative psychotherapist, Sarah takes a holistic approach to mental health, tailoring therapy to each client’s individual needs. She recognises that every person’s experience is unique and draws on a range of psychological theories and practices to provide the most appropriate and effective support. She understands that our environments, family systems, and past experiences play a significant role in shaping identity, self-perception, and emotional wellbeing. By creating a trusting and supportive space, Sarah helps clients explore these influences, identify limiting patterns or beliefs, and work toward greater self-acceptance, resilience, and fulfilment. Sarah works primarily from a person-centred perspective, underpinned by a trauma-informed approach. She integrates a range of psychological modalities, including psychodynamic therapy, attachment theory, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Gestalt therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. This integrative approach allows therapy to remain responsive and flexible, ensuring it aligns with each client’s personal experiences, values, and goals, and supports a meaningful and effective healing process.Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Sarah has worked as a psychotherapist for five years and brings over ten years of experience as an occupational therapist, supporting individuals across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and cultures through illness and many of life’s challenges. Sarah has supported clients experiencing a broad range of mental health difficulties, including low self-esteem and self-criticism, anxiety, relationship and family difficulties, grief and bereavement, low mood and depression, stress and work–life balance concerns, as well as childhood trauma and developmental wounding. She works affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ individuals and neurodivergent clients. Prior to moving into private practice, Sarah worked with Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, where she supported young people through brief therapeutic interventions. Sarah now works exclusively in private practice and currently welcomes adult clients (18+ years).
