Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Niamh’s specialist interest is working with bereavement and loss, as well as working with anxiety and depression. Loss is at the heart of our lives. We all experience a range of losses throughout our lives. Niamh works with individuals who have lost a loved one. She works with those who are grieving the loss of a relationship, both romantic and platonic. She offers a space for those grieving the loss of a job and income, the loss of ability, serious illness of self or a loved one and the loss of self-confidence. Niamh believes that the client is the expert on himself or herself. Niamh has being practicing psychotherapy since 2017.

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Niamh’s approach to counselling and psychotherapy is holistic and person centered. She uses an integrative and humanistic approach. Niamh believes that the relationship between the counsellor and the client is key to developing a trusting therapeutic space, where client and counsellor can work together to explore ways towards achieving the goals and needs of each individual client. Niamh is influeneced by the work of Roberto Assagioli, who writes “Let us examine whether and how it is possible to solve this central problem of human life, to heal this fundamental infirmity of man. Let us see how he may free himself from this enslavement and achieve an harmonious inner integration, true Self-realization, and right relationships with others.”

Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Niamh holds a BA(Hons) in Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from the International College for Personal and Professional Development (ICPPD). She is a fully-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), and abides by the code of ethics laid down by IACP. Niamh is committed to ongoing training and continually expands on her personal and professional development by attending various workshops and training seminars.

Niamh's fee is €70 per session
