Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
In 2012, Margo received a BA degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from MTU (Munster Technological University). She also has a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy with MTU. Margo is currently training to become a supervisor to other professionals.
She is a fully accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with the IACP (Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abides by their code of ethics. Margo is also a member of EMDR Ireland.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Margo is trained in humanistic and Integrative approaches which include Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Relational Psychotherapy and other approaches. She is qualified to work with Trauma and PTSD through EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Her aim when working with clients is to firstly explore whatever issues a client brings to therapy and then to set goals with her client, using her professional knowledge to assist them to better manage or resolve the problem.
One of Margo’s goals is to help her clients become aware of their triggers and patterns of behaviour that may lead to feelings of overwhelm. She works with clients to find different methods and tools to help them restore balance in their lives and to manage each challenging situation, as it arises.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Margo has experience in working with issues such as Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer & Health Related Issues, Cultural Issues, Sexuality, Depression, Infertility and Pregnancy Related Issues.
She also works with clients experiencing Post-Traumatic Stress for which treatment using EMDR has proven particularly beneficial.
Margo supports clients dealing with Work Related Issues and Redundancy, Self-esteem issues and general Personal Development.
Margo’s fee is €75 per session
