Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Lidia is a fully qualified psychotherapist, she received her training with the International College for Personal and Professional Development (ICPPD) based in Athlone. Lidia is fully accredited with Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and abides by the code of ethics set down by the professional body (IACP). She is committed to continue professional and personal growth.Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Lidia came to recognise that the counselling and psychotherapy field is her true calling as a result of her past life circumstances. She has lived in Ireland since 2005 and fell in love with Galway city, which has become her second home. Having worked for many years in the local customer service sector, Lidia developed an interest in interacting with people in a warm, understanding and genuine way. This experience has led her to counselling and psychotherapy, where she provides professional help to people experiencing mental suffering and discomfort who are seeking straightforward understanding, warmth and genuineness, something which we sometimes fail to find from our loved ones. Lidia has a personal interest in working with people experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. To help her clients, she works very organically – with breathing, body awareness, and varieties of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy techniques. Lidia provides everyone with the tools that can be used outside the therapy room. Furthermore, Lidia's holistic way of working allows her to adapt to each individual's needs. Also, she incorporates creative approaches allowing her client's to fully express who they are as individuals. To support this process, Lidia uses Art Therapy with crayons, plasticine and clay; the Psychodynamic model allows her to work with the exploration of dreams. Moreover, Lidia has always had an interest in communication and intrapersonal relationships. She uses the Family Systemic approach to support clients to achieve more open, genuine and honest communication and improve close relationships with their family and partner. What is more, the Psychosynthesis model helps Lidia to see what is emerging in the nature of each individual. Part of the therapists job is to help the client identify their own strengths and resources, and at the same time help integrate them. To facilitate this journey, Lidia uses a range of guided visualisations and active imagination exercises.Counseling Experience and Areas of Interest
