Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Julia is a Gestalt psychotherapist who completed her Postgraduate Diploma with the Gestalt institute of Ireland validated by Institute of Technology Carlow in alignment with IHAP and ICAP regulations. She holds a MSc research Masters in adolescents with Bronagh Starrs affiliated with North Hampton University and is available to work with adolescents and their families. Julia has completed training in the Resnick Model of Gestalt Couple's Therapy. She is a fully accredited psychotherapist with the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), the IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy) and the EAGT (European Association for Gestalt Therapy). Julia is a Gestalt, integrative, humanist therapist who leans towards a relational, embodied philosophical and existential approach. She is presently chair of human rights and social responsibility with the (IIAGT) International Association of Advanced Gestalt. Her approach to Gestalt psychotherapy is individuated to meet each client uniquely and creatively in a relational field as to where they are at. “Therapy is a place to cushion our suffering and find the necessary tools required to manage our mental health sustainably. Julia previously worked and lectured in writing, film and art and has completed an MA, in Screen Writing, (IADT Dublin) BA, in Fine and applied Art’s, (University of Ulster Belfast) BA in Film, (ATU university Galway) Diploma in Irish Language with National University Galway . Foundation in Psychotherapy with Norman Warden, and PG Dip Gestalt institute of Ireland. Julia has worked extensively with charitable organisations and consulted with ID projects and individual communities with the intention to promote equity and inclusivity. Her areas of interest are trauma, inclusion, equity, belonging, loss, grief, gender, LGBTQ+, diversity, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, neurosis, suicidal ideation, empowering the self and the complexities of relationship.Julia's fee is €70 per session for an individual (€60 to unemployed) and €100 for a couple
