Biography

Joanne’s work as a psychologist involves supporting people with a range of moderate to severe mental health issues such as: anxiety, low mood, bereavement, trauma, eating/body image, OCD, self-criticism/self esteem struggles, and relationship, family and work issues. Joanne also conducts online, neurodiversity-affirmative autism assessments to adults based in Ireland/ UK.

She draws on different therapy approaches depending on each person’s priorities and emotional needs – whether that be facilitating longer-term change or providing practical strategies for tackling a particular issue.

Joanne is trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic and trauma-based therapeutic models and grounds her client work within a person-centered approach.  She is also trained in psychological assessment and has extensive expertise of conducting neurodiversity-affirmative autism assessments for adults.

Joanne is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with a Doctorate of Counselling Psychology from Trinity College Dublin, a Masters in Humanitarian Action from UCD and a BA in Psychology and French from Trinity College Dublin. She is registered with the Psychology Society of Ireland (M10249C) and is also licensed to practice in France.
