Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Paul views counselling and psychotherapy as a very individual journey and works alongside clients to co-create a safe space where they can express their thoughts and feelings in a compassionate, confidential and non-judgmental environment. He adopts a humanistic and integrative approach, incorporating a number of different therapeutic modalities to best support the unique needs of each client. These include Person-Centered Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic therapy and Mindfulness approaches, which enable client and therapist to work together in exploring underlying feelings and behavioral patterns and begin making long-term positive changes.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Paul has worked for many years alongside adults and young people experiencing a wide range of presenting issues including stress, anxiety, depression, anger, panic attacks, relationship difficulties, life purpose, and self-confidence. Paul also volunteered at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, working with clients with spinal injury and acquired brain injury and completed his MLitt in psychology there. He has a particular interest in supporting those who are experiencing transition points in their lives, such as becoming a new parent, changing career, overcoming a life-changing event or exploring a new direction in life.
