Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Gina holds a Professional diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy, an Honours Degree in Psychology and Certificate in Integrative Supervision.  She is an Accredited Member and Supervisor with The Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).

To further her professional development Gina has also undertaken training in Bereavement, Loss, Complicated Grief, Addiction Studies, Sexual abuse, CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Online and Telephone counselling and is committed to ongoing continuous Professional Development.

Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Approach

Gina works from a Humanistic Integrative approach, that is, she considers the person from an emotional, behavioral, cognitive and physiological perspective.  Her aim is to support her client to develop awareness and choices and discover their own inner resources in order to live a more fulfilling life.  Gina draws on a number of therapeutic approaches and techniques to allow her to adapt and meet the individual needs of her client.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Gina has over twenty years’ experience as a Therapist working with individuals from all walks of life, age 18 upwards with a varied range of issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, childhood issues, guilt, shame, relationship difficulties, terminal illness, cancer diagnosis, carer support and many more.

She has over ten years’ experience as a Supervisor working one to one and with small groups from Students to Accredited therapists.

Gina has a particular interest in Loss, Bereavement and Grief and has both academic and practical experience in this area.  This training has enabled her to work with clients experiencing loss at different levels and stages in their lives such as Relationship breakdown, childhood abandonment, bereavement, and other life losses.

In addition, she has worked with individuals and family members with the challenges posed by a cancer diagnosis, terminal illness and bereavement and has a certificate from the English National Board for Nursing in Continuing Care of Dying Patients and the Family.

Gina works with clients both short term and long term.

Gina’s Fee per session is €70 for individuals
