Dr. Diana Bast is a chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and an experienced Clinical Psychologist and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA-D) with more than ten years of professional practice, supporting clients living in a number of different countries (e.g., Ireland, Brazil, US).
Dr. Bast obtained her clinical diploma in 2005 from Pontifica Catholic University, São Paulo, Brazil. She subsequently received Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) certification in 2007 at the Medical School of the University of São Paulo (USP) and Clinical Behaviour Therapy certification in 2010 from Nucleo Paradigma. São Paulo.
In 2011, she obtained funding to pursue doctoral research at Maynooth University in Ireland and she obtained her PhD in 2015. Since then, she has worked in Ireland both as an academic and researcher as well as a clinical practitioner.
Dr. Bast is accredited by the Department of Health in Ireland and works within the PSI and BCBA code of ethics.
Counselling & Psychotherapeutic Approach
Dr. Bast offers empirically based-therapy with a primarily clinical behaviour analytic approach, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
Dr. Bast values therapeutic relationship and will work in collaboration with you to help you to create a rich and meaningful life, working towards taking effective actions guided by your deepest values and in which you are fully present and engaged. To faciltate positive life change, she will help you to cope with all sorts of psychological barriers, in the form of unpleasant and unwanted “private experiences”(thoughts, images, feelings, sensations, urges, and memories) so that you can achieve what is important to you. Possible goals to work on include improving your life-style, coping with psychological suffering, overcoming performance problems, improving your relationships, etc.
Anyone can enjoy the benefits of therapy, whether you want to set life goals or establish healthy relationships. Everyone experiences emotional challenges and so you don’t need to be in a debilitating crisis to seek support. Therapy can also be used to prevent your concerns from festering and becoming larger problems and thus restore your quality of life.

Counselling Experience & Areas of Interest
Dr. Bast has been working in clinical psychology and counselling for several years. Dr Bast’s areas of treatment experience include mood disorders (e.g., bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder), anxiety disorders (e.g., panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress, generalized anxiety, specific phobia, social phobia), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), relationship problems, existential crisis, self-esteem problems, concentration difficulties, quality of life and balanced life style, dependence and parental guidance.
Dr. Bast offers individual and couples relationship counselling, works with adolescents and adults and also provides supervision in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Applied Behaviour Analyis. Dr. Bast also offers psychological and cognitive assessments including assessment for generic and specific learning difficulties, and ADHD.
Individual session and supervision: €80 (50 min)
Couple Therapy: €120 (1h 30 min)
Educational/ Cognitive Assessment: €600 euros (3 hours)
ADHD Assessment: €800 euros (3 hours)
