Annette holds a degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Cork Institute of Technology and is a Pre-Accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (M13676).

Annette’s training as an Integrative Psychotherapist involved working with a wide range of theoretical concepts including Gestalt, Person-Centred Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Experiencing and Trauma Therapy as well as aspects of Mindfulness and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

In addition, Annette has also completed training in Suicide Awareness as well as Complex Trauma.

As a Pre-Accredited member of the IACP, Annette adheres to IACP guidelines on ethics and data protection and applies these standards in her work with clients.

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Annette believes that our past experience can shape our current way of being in the world and believes that by creating a solid therapeutic relationship, clients can safely explore their issues and begin to make sense of their story.

Underpinning her work is the belief in the capacity of each individual to access the inner resources and resilience to affect change in their life, when given the empathy, support, and non-judgemental space to do so.

Her integrative, client-centred approach recognises the uniqueness of each individual and this enables her to work collaboratively with the client at their pace, enabling them to identify and gently dismantle the patterns and beliefs that no longer serve them.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Annette works with individuals aged 18 years and upwards.

Over the course of her training, Annette worked and continues to work, with a wide range of individuals presenting with issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, post-natal depression, grief and loss, and abuse.

One of Annette’s favourite descriptions of the therapist-client relationship is that of “fellow travellers” (Irving Yalom), as we are two people navigating the space and meeting what emerges.

Annette’s Fee is €70 per session
