Bríd's fee is €80 per session
Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Bríd holds an MSc in Integrative and Humanistic Psychotherapy awarded by University of College Cork, and a PhD in Sociology from Trinity College Dublin. She is a certified associate of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapists (IAHIP) and abides by their ethics whilst working towards accreditation.
Counselling and Psychotherapy Approach
Bríd is first and foremost a humanistic person-centred therapist. Person-centred therapy aims to offer relationship qualities such as warmth, attuned and active listening, empathy, respect, and unconditional positive regard so as to form a trusting relationship with each unique client which fosters conditions for mutual learning, growth, and change to occur; always in the direction of the client’s choosing.
As an integrative humanistic therapist Bríd combines person-centred principles with trauma informed therapeutic practice. Principles of inclusivity and social justice are central to her working style. She is also influenced by humanistic traditions that emphasise creative, playful, and experientially rich forms of human-to-human encounter that allow for safe exploration of emotion and feeling. She is committed to ongoing education and personal development and is currently undertaking further training in adolescent psychotherapy.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Bríd welcomes all persons who are seeking support during times of difficulty or suffering. Her areas of experience and interest include navigating times of change and loss; anxiety; depression; climate distress/grief; Self and Body-Image; developmental wounding; gender/sexuality and LGBTQ+ mental health; and adolescent development and psychotherapy.
