Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Brigitte holds a MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School (DBS) and a MA in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology from Universite Lumiere Lyon 2 in France. Psychoanalytic training and formation require – among other matters – long ongoing processes which she has been following through different seminars, lectures, group discussions and reading groups over the years in Ireland with psychoanalytic organizations as the Association for Psychoanalysis Psychotherapy Ireland (APPI), Freud Lacan Institute (FLI) , Espace Analytique Ireland (EAI) but also in France with Espace Analytique (EA), L’Association Lacanienne Internationale (ALI). Brigitte is a fully accredited Member of ICP, APPI in Ireland.Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Psychotherapy and psychoanalysis are meant to support people experiencing psychological suffering or questioning and therefore presenting different symptoms: anxiety, addiction, inhibition, phobia, stress, depression or difficulties in personal, family or work life. Brigitte proposes analytical therapeutic work in order to best support her clients - beyond the symptoms - towards a better understanding of what is happening consciously and unconsciously: that is to say everything what happens and takes place without our knowledge and the consequences that result (particularly in terms of suffering) making everyday life difficult. This approach centred on words aims to position oneself at the heart of one's personal history in order to understand it differently. It’s about finding your way through your difficulties and finally freeing yourself from obstacles or blockages – often inherited – which are “places of suffering”.Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Brigitte has been in private practice as a psychoanalyst and a psychotherapist since 2009. She built up her experience over the past thirty years working in a variety of therapeutic settings including Lucena Clinic, but also in a French Mother and Child Protection Institution (Le centre Maternel de Gerland) for more than a decade. She has developed valuable skills in the area of child and family emotional, psychological, physical and sexual abuse and a strong understanding of the family settings. This clinical work, alongside studies and training in clinical psychology and psychopathology led her to develop a deep interest in psychoanalysis, knowledge of the unconscious of the individual, its intergenerational transmission and how its effects can affect and determine someone’s life.
