Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

There are many reasons people seek psychotherapy, including finding understanding, support, hope, insight and relief from different kinds of suffering – Stress (e.g. related to their family, a particular relationship, in the work place – burn out, bullying…); Anxiety/ Panic; Traumas of different kinds (sexual, emotional…); Depression; Low Self Esteem; Grief; Bereavement. The sources of suffering can be complex and hard to access on one’s own. The unique ground and fabric of the therapeutic relationship can provide a powerful resource towards healing and vitality.

A humanistic and integrative psychotherapist (accredited member of IAHIP) John uses a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches (e.g. Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Existential and Body based modalities) to develop with the client their path towards psychological health and self agency.

Psychological and emotional suffering can be intense, invisible and debilitating. It can deprive the person of a sense of safety and security; it can feel threatening, hopeless, draining, confusing and lonely. Often it is hard to find the next step. The therapeutic relationship provides an opportunity to find that next step.
