Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Yvonne has studied various theories and approaches to psychotherapy and incorporates a humanistic and integrative approach in her practice. She believes that every client is a unique individual, with the potential for self-healing and self-actualisation. Yvonne views the therapeutic relationship as fundamental to the client’s experience of therapy. To that end, her aim is to build a trusting and non-judgmental relationship with each client and to provide a safe space in which to explore their own unique experience.

Yvonne employs a range of psychotherapeutic traditions to assist the therapeutic process. These include person-centred therapy, psychodynamic, existential, gestalt, attachment therapy and somatic/body psychotherapy.

Yvonne has worked with clients from many diverse backgrounds who have experienced a wide range of issues. Her areas of interest and experience include anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality, identity, childhood experiences, relationship issues, grief, and loss. She is interested in working with people from all countries and cultural backgrounds.
