Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Eimear worked for many years teaching in primary schools. The importance of relationship in teaching and the impact a secure connection had on the children in her classroom was evident to her from the beginning of her career.

Eimear noted that a kind, accepting, authentic relationship brought about improvements both socially and academically for the children she taught. These observations and felt experiences led Eimear to begin a personal exploration of her own and this in turn led her to complete the MSc in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from TPI/UCC.

Eimear’s approach is person-centred, integrative, and humanistic.  She places each client at the heart of the therapeutic process, allowing her to consider the needs and personality of each in terms of her approach.

Eimear truly believes the therapeutic relationship is central to the process of therapy. In her practice, she aims to provide safety, non-judgment, and acceptance. She believes this encourages and facilitates the exploration of client behaviour patterns leading to self-awareness, healing, growth, and empowerment.
