Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Caroline Bracken is a professionally qualified and experienced Psychotherapist. She holds a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Master’s Degree in Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School. These courses are recognised by the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP).

Caroline is an associate member of IAHIP and maintains the professional standards set out by this organisation. She attends regular supervision and abides by the code of ethics outlined by IAHIP.

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Caroline’s approach to psychotherapy is integrative and humanistic. Her training draws on several theories and models of therapeutic work. Caroline moves intuitively through these approaches in response to each individual client and their own unique presentations within the therapeutic space.

Caroline believes the therapeutic relationship to be central and therefore aims to remain sensitive, attuned and therapeutically responsive to her clients’ relational needs. She also aims to maintain a person–centred perspective which respects the inherent value of each person, manifesting an attitude of unconditional positive regard, treating all her clients with kindness and empathy, creating security and accepting them as they present themselves in therapy.

Caroline’s core philosophy as being an integrative and humanistic psychotherapist is being present to the experiences and emotions of her clients so they can further explore their worries, develop their authentic self, reach their full potential and celebrate their growth.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Caroline’s journey began as a secondary school teacher working in a school with students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Caroline observed through her students how trauma, family issues, negative self-image can affect people in the form of anxiety, stress, low self-esteem and depression. Since then, Caroline has been determined to help and support clients going through similar issues.

Caroline’s areas of expertise include those mental health issues mentioned above as well as those of anger, self-doubt, grief/loss, work/life balance, overwhelm, low motivation, sexuality and relationships.
