Ann's fee is €90 per session for an individual and €120 per session for couples

Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Ann holds a BSc(Hons) Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College, validated by Middlesex University. She is dedicated to on-going training which will inform her practice and enrich what she can offer her clients. Ann also holds a post graduate diploma in Child and Adolescence Play Therapy from the Children’s Therapy Centre (CTC). She has additional training in Issues of Sexual Violence and Trauma, and she has completed The London Diploma in Psychosexual & Relationship Therapy.  Ann is an associate member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). Ann has attended training with IECEFT (The International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy) on working with couples. She has also trained in couples therapy with leading Gestalt experts, Bob and Rita Resnick. Ann is a fully accredited member of Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and abides by the code of ethics. She attends regular supervision as part of her ethical commitment

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Ann works with both individual clients and couples.  Her core approach is in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy; wherein the therapy is client led and the client is held in a safe therapeutic relationship.  This facilitates the client to address issues arising in their lives. As part of her work Ann continues to partake in ongoing training in particular in the interest of couples work.  Ann uses an eclectic approach when working with couples. She draws on different models to find the best way of working with each couple. Ann believes it is important to work with the difference with a couple and encourage them to find the best way forward that best suits the couple.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Throughout her work with clients Ann has gained experience working with adolescents faced with issues of bullying, low self-esteem, anxiety, fear, trauma, parental separation and divorce.  She is empathetic to the difficulties and struggles for parents seeking to keep the relationship with their adolescence healthy and lines of communication open. Ann works with clients recovering with alcohol addiction and adult children of alcoholics. Ann has grown an interest in the links and patterns of relating, due to the influence of relationships experienced and observed throughout childhood and the impact this has on adult relationships. Ann has a keen interest in working with bereavement, loss and complicated grief as in bereavement through suicide.  Complicated grief can cover many issues which the bereaved may have to face and a safe therapeutic space can be used to explore these issues and help find resolve. Ann also has experience working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, rape, sexual assault and trauma. Ann has a strong interest in relationships, communication, conflict, differences and resolve. Ann is interested in diversity and difference and how it adapts and changes in both relationship with self and others.
