Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation

Laura holds a BA(Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Dublin Business School (DBS). Since completing her foundational training in Humanistic Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, Laura has continued to expand her knowledge and skills by participating in regular training workshops and seminars. She recently completed additional training in Body Psychotherapy.

Laura is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), and she abides by their code of ethics.  Laura has supervision on a regular basis to ensure her own continuous education.

Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach

Laura primarily works from a Humanistic/Psychodynamic approach while drawing from a number of other therapeutic approaches as appropriate and required.

Laura’s belief is that the relationship between client and therapist is of the utmost importance. She strives to create a safe and secure space, free from judgement in order to facilitate healing and growth.

Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest

Laura has worked with a variety of people of different ages and genders. She has gained experience in supporting people through a range of different issues, including but not limited to, anxiety, lack of self-esteem, depression, sexuality, gender, abuse, attachment issues and relationship difficulties.

Laura’s previous experience includes working with the UCD Student Counselling Service.

As well as maintaining a busy private practice, Laura also currently works as a Specialist Pregnancy Counsellor with the Irish Family Planning Association (IFPA). She has a keen interest in working with pregnancy loss including termination of pregnancy, attachment issues related to or triggered by pregnancy and tokophobia (a pathological fear of pregnancy).
