Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Siobhán holds a BA degree in counselling & Psychotherapy with Youth Studies and a BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy with the Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences (ICHAS). Along with a previously completed diploma in the Psychology of Counselling from the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG). She is a pre-accredited member of the National Association for Professional Counselling and Psychotherapy (NAPCP).
Siobhán is continuously looking to upskill both her personal and professional development by attending workshops and training seminars to ensure she is working in the most ethical and informed ways possible.
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Siobhán believes in working together with clients to understand and meet their individual self-development needs and goals. This is carried out in a trauma-informed, evidence based and integrative safe environment. Drawing on a range of theories which are tailored to each client.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Siobhán’s initial interest in psychology began on completing a childcare course after leaving secondary school, on taking some different paths her journey lead her back to training and practicing psychotherapy since 2016. Throughout this time Siobhán has ensured that she has attended her own personal therapy sessions to ensure that she has experienced the therapeutic experience as a client and is under skilled supervision to ensure professional and ethical boundaries are a constant.
Siobhán strives to work as trauma informed counsellor focusing on adolescent counselling, anxiety and depression, life changes, bereavement and loss, with an emotion focused viewpoint. Ensuring clients feel they can express themselves in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental and supportive space.
