Psychotherapy Training and Accreditation
Sarah has an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy from Tivoli Institute/SETU, an MSc in Health Psychology from the Ulster University, a Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Studies from Derby University, and a BA Hons Psychology from UCD. A fully accredited member of IACP (Irish Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists), she is also a Graduate Member of PSI (Psychological Society of Ireland).
Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Sarah is trained in several modes of therapies, including psychodynamic and person-centered. She also integrates Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychoeducation to create an individual approach for each person.
Sarah’s view is that therapy helps us understand how our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviour are connected. The result is being less trapped in our thoughts and behaviour, and less at the mercy of our feelings. With renewed appreciation of who we truly are, we gain more workable ways of responding to what life brings.
Sarah creates a non-judgemental space which is a safe and secure base from where to explore one’s difficulties and move beyond them. She takes a kind and empathic approach with acceptance at the heart of her method.
