Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Sarah believes that Psychotherapy allows us to explore our inner worlds, is a safe and trusting environment. She uses a gentle approach in offering a space for her clients to explore what is happening for them in order for them to find meaning.
Sarah offers acceptance and respect for each individual and their process. She believes that we are all on our own unique journey and trusts in our capacity to move towards growth and healing. She has a deep respect for the therapeutic process and believes a relationship of trust is important, one in which she and her client are working together. Sarah uses a Person Centred approach. She values creativity and mindfulness in supporting the therapeutic process and tailors her approach to each individual.
Sarah believes what brings us to therapy is often a disconnection from ourselves due to past life events, trauma or current circumstances. She offers a safe space to explore how this may be appearing in our lives, be it as depression or anxiety for example. She works creatively with her clients to connect to a stronger sense of themselves which can empower them to respond to their lives from an authentic place, closer to their true selves
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Sarah has a background in the Social Care sector and has considerable experience supporting various groups with issues such as mental health, female health and support, adolescent and adult support. This experience brings a strong sense of individuality to her work. It enriched her understanding of each person’s process of growth, of navigating and transitioning different life stages and events, and how these impact on our developing sense of ourselves.
Sarah enjoys integrating her artistic interests by working creatively, exploring our emerging and true selves through dream work, artistic and creative expression. She also has an interest in our mind body connection and mindfulness, in connecting us in a deeper way to our experience and to ourselves.
