Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approach
Pauline’s model of psychotherapy is psychodynamic and integrative, she combines Gestalt, Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Imago techniques, alongside specialist psychosexual ways of working to support each individuals unique needs.
Pauline is warm, open, and approachable, she understands how difficult it can be to talk about sex and relationships. She knows it takes great courage to seek help. Intimate relationships can move to the bottom of the pile as we juggle our homes, work, childcare and aging parents. Sex can become another thing we have to do. Conflict may be caused by mismatched sexual desire and communication issues. Individuals might look for intimacy outside of their primary relationship, the impact of this discovery can be devastating. Childhood and early life may also impact on our relationships and beliefs around sex, we might have a fear of closeness or struggle to trust others. Sexual or psychological abuse can leave us feeling overwhelmed by shame, guilt and anger. Illness can affect our sex life and relationships, sometimes our bodies let us down. As a specialist Sex and Relationship Therapist Pauline can offer you support, you no longer need to do this alone.
