Patricia is an integrative therapist with particular focus on humanistic and person-centred approaches. She also includes CBT and Choice /Reality Therapy depending on the needs of the client.
Patricia offers a safe, confidential, supportive and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their challenges and difficulties. Her approach to therapy is based on the belief that each individual has within themselves the power to live the life that they deserve. At times this may feel difficult to access but working collaboratively with her clients she supports them to gain a better understanding of themselves and their situation helping them to plan and work towards a more hopeful future.
Counselling Experience and Areas of Interest
Patricia has worked as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in a number of organisations and in private practice.
Patricia’s experience includes but is not limited to working with abuse, anxiety (including panic attacks, social anxiety), bereavement and loss, depression, emotional regulation, financial difficulties, personal development, trauma, sexual violence, relationship difficulties, transitions and work related stress.
Patricia has a particular interest and experience in accompanying people who are experiencing loss and grief.
From both her personal and professional experience she understands that grief can be excruciatingly painful. That it not only happens when someone you love dies but also when your relationship falls apart, when opportunities are shattered, when your dreams die and when illnesses and medical diagnosis changes your life forever. At these times of unimaginable loss and grief it can help to have a safe place where you can be how you want and need to be.
